On Friday, the Church demonstrates her spiritual closeness to those directly affected by the conflict in Ukraine by consecrating Ukraine and Russia to the Immaculate heart of Mary.
“This Act of Consecration is meant to be a gesture of the universal Church, which in this dramatic moment lifts up to God, through his Mother and ours, the cry of pain of all those who suffer and implore an end to the violence, and to entrust the future of our human family to the Queen of Peace.” Pope Francis
The Act of Consecration will take place in the context of a Celebration of Penance to be held in Saint Peter’s Basilica.
We shall be joining the Act from St Theresa’s tomorrow (Friday 25th March) from 5:00 p.m. The timings are as follows:
- Church Opens: 5:00 p.m.
- Pray the Rosary: 5:10 p.m.
- Act of Consecration: 5.30 p.m.
Deacon Des will also repeat the Act of Consecration at the end of Stations in the evening (Friday 25th March).
All are welcome.
