2nd November 2021 is the day the Church sets aside to pray for all the faithful departed. The Church gives us the opportunity to offer three Masses on that day, we will offer Mass at 8:30a.m., 9:30 a.m. and the evening Mass in the Extraordinary Form (Latin) at 8:00p.m. During these Masses we will pray for our dear departed loved ones, and all those who have died and who have no one to pray for them. The whole month of November is the month of Holy Souls, so as in previous years we offer sheets for you to write the names of your departed loved ones that will be kept in a casket by the altar at every Mass of every day during November.
We also offer the chance to purchase a candle to be lit in loving memory of our departed loved ones, each candle will have a printed label with the names of your departed loved ones on it. This year we have obtained larger candles that can remain lit for seven days. The sheet to “book” a candle is available on the table as you come into/out of Church. There is also an envelope should you wish to make a Mass offering for the Masses offered for the Holy Souls throughout the month of November. Could we ask that those who wish to book a candle, please fill in this sheet, and return to me at the Presbytery by Friday 29th October. This allows time for the labels to be printed, and the candles arranged in Church and lit after the Mass of All Saints on 1st November.
Thank you
Fr Lee.
