Parish Pastoral Council
Our Parish Pastoral Council Constitution can be found here.
We are very grateful to Ann Cassidy-Jones (Deputy Head and Head of RE at St. Joseph’s School). She runs Liturgy Sessions for children.
They are once a month, on the first Sunday of each month. Sessions are held in St. Theresa’s room (to the right of the altar) and are open to primary school aged children up until they have received First Holy Communion.
We respectfully ask that parents do not attend sessions with their children as this can cause distractions. If your child has specific needs which require you to attend Liturgy with them, please contact Anna Watkins to make the necessary arrangements.
During the sessions, the room will not be able to be used as it would normally be used to take younger children and babies who are becoming restless. Please take younger parishioners into the foyer at the front of the church when Children’s Liturgy sessions are occurring. We apologise for any inconvenience and invite you to use St. Theresa’s room on all other occasions.
Divine Mercy devotion
Saint Faustina Kowalska, a young Polish nun, spread the special devotion in the 1930s. The message is a reminder of God’s mercy and forgiveness. It calls people to a deeper understanding that God’s love is unlimited and available to everyone — especially the greatest sinners.
The message and devotion to Jesus as The Divine Mercy is based on the writings of St Faustina, who in obedience to her spiritual director, wrote a diary of about 600 pages recording the revelations she received about God’s mercy.
